About

Cheniere Energy is the largest U.S. producer and exporter of liquefied natural gas, operating export terminals in Texas and Louisiana.

Intersection with the Trump administration

On January 20, 2025, President Trump issued an executive order lifting the prior pause on new LNG export permit applications, a change Cheniere said it would use to pursue expansion. In 2025 the Department of Energy approved a roughly 12% export expansion at Cheniere's Corpus Christi LNG terminal. Cheniere's CEO stated the company plans to expand capacity under the administration's energy policy.
